The Affordable Connectivity Program is a federal benefit that provides eligible households with a monthly discount on home internet, making many plans available at little or no cost.
If you receive federal housing assistance, your household automatically qualifies for the ACP!
If your household does not receive federal housing assistance, there are other ways you can qualify, such as participation in another government assistance program (i.e. Medicaid, SNAP) or through household income. Click here to view the full list of eligibility options.
Thanks to funding through the Federal Communications Commission’s “Your Home, Your Internet” pilot program, the Center for Digital Equity's Digital Navigators will be coming to you as we host events at INLIVIAN housing properties over the next year. Our goal is to ensure every eligible household can connect to reliable and affordable high-speed home internet.
INLIVIAN and CORE are partnering with the Center for Digital Equity (CDE) of Queen’s University, and national non-profit EducationSuperHighway to increase awareness of and enrollment in the ACP.

Step 1:
Visit GetACP.org to confirm your household qualifies for the ACP benefit, learn what documentation you will need to apply, and view a list of internet service plans available in the area.
If you receive Federal Public Housing Assistance, you are automatically eligible and can skip this step.
Step 2:
Gather identification and proof-of-eligibility documentation. View our Frequently Asked Questions for more information on documentation requirements.
If you receive Federal Public Housing Assistance and choose to apply with the last four digits of your SSN, you will not need to provide additional documentation.
Step 3:
Complete your ACP application and wait to receive confirmation. Make sure to save your "ACP Application ID" as you will need this to apply your benefit with an internet provider.

Step 4:
Apply your ACP Application ID to your chosen internet service plan.

The Affordable Connectivity Program also provides eligible households with a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers.

Sign up for a FREE Digital Literacy workshop through the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library System. Topics include, but are not limited to, getting started with your computer or smartphone, using the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), or creating graphics using Canva.
